Built in Egypt, for Egyptian stores
Mortaga is a returns and exchanges platform for online stores in Egypt that sell on Shopify. We provide software to stores. We don't sell products to shoppers.
Why we built it
Most online orders in Egypt are paid cash on delivery. When a customer wants to return something, there is no card to refund, so stores end up arranging cash transfers, couriers, and replacement sizes by hand, over WhatsApp and phone calls. It takes hours every week, and most of that money leaves the store for good.
Tools built abroad assume card payments, email, and couriers that don't work here. We built Mortaga around how Egyptian e-commerce actually runs.
What we do
- Give every store its own return page, where customers request a return or exchange from their phone in about a minute.
- Offer store credit with a bonus, so customers have a reason to keep shopping instead of taking cash back.
- Put every return in one place for the store's team to approve, with the order synced from Shopify.
- Book the courier pickup and track it automatically, starting with Bosta.
- Support Arabic and English, EGP, Instapay, and mobile wallets.
Who we work with
Mortaga connects to Shopify for orders, products, and store credit, to courier companies like Bosta for pickups, and to Paymob for online payments.
